Where my head is as I move to 2009....

To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.

This will brighten even the gloomiest of days. If you play it over and over again, you might just get a little jiggy yourself. Happy Thursday... and HBD to my wee one!

Ground Hog Day... Will is 6!!!!
Well, he wanted to do the exact same thing as we did LAST YEAR! Initially we were going to go bowling, and then at the last minute, he wanted to do the same exact thing. So... we did. We skated at the most idyllic rink and then headed in for some cupcakes and potato skins. Seems we all love this yearly event and even if he decides he wants to do something else next year... we may have to make it a yearly event.
DUDE! Nice shades.... and cute kids.

And then, we went to Georgetown for the Christmas Tree Lighting. We know we are in the Holiday Season!
More on Thanksgiving! What a great day of football, and silly hats. It was good. The weekend was FULL!

Christmas Tree Lighting- Georgetown Colorado

http://www.frontrangeliving.com/architecture/Georgetown.htm

We went up to Georgetown last night to attend the Christmas tree lighting- our second year! Will was able to stand with his friend Chloe and Ella and the other kindergardeners and sing Christmas songs. The weather was perfect... lightly snowing and not nearly as cold as it was last year. It was just perfect. It was the perfect start to a wonderfully simple season! Good friends, a shared meal and some great conversation in the midst of the wildness of kids is priceles. Happy countdown!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a nice and simple day. We started with a little football and then moved right into dinner. It was perfect and I think may have started a new trend for the day. We did a potluck and it was GREAT! Hope you and yours are feeling the abundance of the day and the hope in the future.

You Are Boggle

You are an incredibly creative and resourceful person.

You're able to dig deep and think outside the box to get things done.

You are a non linear thinker. You don't like following directions

You draw your inspiration from the strangest places sometimes. You're constantly inspired.

It's a good day!!!

We had a good weekend. I am enjoying the this time before the holidays. We will be getting ready early and I will be making most of our gifts. Somehow, it feels like it should. I think the economic environment is going to help us if we let it.

I have missed all of the hoopla. I like remembering how good it feels for the change to be here. I am happy for my son... hope is a powerful thing.

First Day of Kindergarten!

WOW.... today was the first day of kindergarten. Will woke up early this morning and ran into my office asking if he could quick get ready and go to school. It made my day/week....month. I am so happy he is excited for school especially considering our summer camp experience.

He is really growing up. Last week he decided it was ok to leave his blankie at home. Now he has one at dad's house and one at mine. This was a big step. We have been talking about it for a while and he really did it all himself. I have found this is how it all seems to work... potty training, reading. He makes brilliantly smooth transitions when the timing is right for him.

He is in Ms Ravenscroft room and there are a number of kids he knows in his class. All of the details seem to be working themselves out. I am glad he has a backpack (that is larger than he is) for all of those interesting things we have been carrying around for such a long time. He and Ella will miss each other a lot. I am happy they will see each other on the playground and after school. They are best buds and are pills when they are together... this way, they will probably listen a wee bit more than they would if they were in the same class. Anyway, the smiles are really reciprocal here and start in their toes.

This weekend, I found ways to make the summer seem much more like the summer. Our pool has gone through a huge makeover and it has paid off. We met Kiara and wee little Annika and Helena.\ I think everyone had a great timeWe love to go over there for even an hour.

Benton had his 4th birthday and the party was really perfect. I hope these kids keep on having birthday parties because they are always really fun. I dont have any pics from the festivities because I forgot to put the CF card in the camera. DUH!

Spent a few days in Winter Park with Sarah, Hannah, Madison and Mary Quick. Lots of firsts on that trip!

The backyard is feeling less and less like the CLAMPETS live here. I think I need a week off from work for each part of the house that needs work. OK... so winning the lottery would help in that arena.

This week is busy so I dont forsee a trip to the pool unless it is a later in the evening trip, maybe I will be able to pull that off.

Goodness to you this week!

A new blog! I hope that I will be able to note some our very best adventures and learnings! I have named it "sweet mysteries". A number of years ago, I learned first hand what this really meant, it really captures all of the brilliant moments we cant find words for. So, hopefully my learning curve won't inhibit the readability of this... oh who am I kidding, of course it will.

I had a chair made and it is named sweet mysteries... and the inspiration came from this painting. Each time I look at these or I am reminded how precious each moment is. This is where I want to precious moments to live.
